Getting Started

Thank you for choosing HomePort to store your valuable information. If you have not already, you may wish to look at our pricing information.

Let’s get started

Register for a new account. Register for an account. Once you have submitted the information, a user name and password will be assigned to you, which you will need in the future to access your account.

Log in with your user name and password. Login to HomePort Builder and start editing your account.

Choose what you want to do. Add a new HomePort, add a new template or view your profile.

DocumentsAdd documents to the HomePort. You can store a variety of data pertaining to the house. There are sections for architectural and construction drawings, the property survey, general contractor information and maintenance records as well as details about paint colors and pictures of the construction. There is also a section for appliance manuals and warranties. Epochal Solutions is building a database of appliance manuals that you can choose from to store on the HomePort.

Create a template. If you are creating several HomePorts with similar information, you may want to create a template that will store the common data. For instance, several homes may use the same dishwasher. Details about the dishwasher can be stored in a template.

Request your HomePort. Once you have added all the information to your HomePort Builder account, click the Commit and Ship button. Epochal Solutions will then send the HomePort package complete with installed data to your shipping address.

Install. The HomePort is quick and easy to install (1.1 MB PDF). Use a dry wall saw or rotary cutting tool to cut a rectangular hole about the size of a junction box in the wall. Secure the inner box to the wall using a screwdriver. Attach the main HomePort unit to the inner box.

Connect. Use the provided USB cable to connect any home computer, laptop or handheld device to the HomePort. Once you have connected to your HomePort, it will mount on your Desktop if you are using a Mac, or be accessible via My Computer in Windows.
